WARD’S WORLD

Since leaving his 3 year day job as Skate Team “Development” Manager at Rip Curl, Pro skater Trevor Ward has been flat stick.

Started a new truck company “THEEVE TRUCKS” which he’ll be launching in the USA in October. He’s already signed up TONY HAWK to the team. Set up a new warehouse in Vista, California. He’s also a partner in skate brand ARMOURDILLO” which boasts some amazing team talent. USA pros STEVE CABALLERO, CORY DUFFEL and GREG LUTZKA.

In 2005 was ranked 3rd in the world and 5th in 2007.His focus these days is less on comps and more on the business side of skate. He still managers to travel the globe doing demos. At the time of this interview he was in Singapore.

When he’s home in Torquay you can usually find him surrounded by hot chicks. His beautiful wife Helena and his 3 cute daughters Ella 8, Dana 3 and Jada 1. His “A” team he calls them.

Dragon have generously let him set up his own vert ramp behind their factory. So he can stay sharp. I seriously think Dragon didn’t realize the size of this thing before they said yeah, no worries Trev. Let me tell ya, this ramp is the real deal! 13ft tall and 40ft wide. There is only two ramps in Australia that have a Skatelite surface. One which is Trev’s and the other is Monster skatepark in Sydney. It is the second biggest ramp in the country. He’s had it for about 4 years now. It was a demo ramp that toured the world at one stage.

The ramp will be the site for “TERROR IN TORQUAY” a comp to be held 1st of November.

SMOKIN' SURF COAST AUG 09

Hey All in blog land, Surf Coast Sizzle will keep you up to date with what's happening around the Surf Coast. Who, when, where and how is what it's all about. All killer no filler. It won't be all about surfing, we're gonna tackle all sorts of stuff. Who knows you might even find yourself amongst it all. When there's something to say, we'll say it. When there's something to show you, we'll show you.So here we are with the very first blog, "numero uno"

Just in case you've been living under a rock the past few days the surf has been smokin'. Thursday 27th Aug was the pick of the days with the swell peaking around the 8ft mark with the odd bigger sneakers. The local young guns were smashin' it and as usual there was a fair share crew struggling to get out at spots like Bells and close calls with the Winki button. Check out the sequence of a guy eating it as well as other pics. Any way, enough babbling, enjoy the pics.
